I will start with an example &
then provide a definition that is used as a skill.
We’ll start by thinking of the color green.
Did you think the same as I? There’s lime, sea, kelly & others.
Mine? Apple green.
A DEFINITION is: a road-map or blueprint that allows us to function in a healthy, effective & productive manner. Definitions allow us to talk about the same thing at the same time. Otherwise we journey heading in different directions or have a mess of a building completed in both modern and colonial clashing styles.
THE SKILL? Define everything.
Child didn't clean their room the way you wanted?
Did you define "clean room"?
Going to have a successful day? Define success.
For some it’s completing a report that’s due,
for another it’s a haircut, for the 3rd it’s time spent with family.
Get the definition from a dictionary or make it up.
Share it with people you’re working with so you're on the same path.
It may not be a traditional definition that society uses.
It may be a contradiction to the status quo.
It may also be a confirmation of something you feel deep inside -
the ability to express yourself.
Interesting huh?
Again I’m at my floor & stepping off.
I’ll step back on next Thursday.
