KEYNOTE & GENERAL SESSION SPEECHES & SERMONS
Do you look for speakers who can move an audience from thought to action, from despair to hope?
When you add my name to the head of your list, we'll both be glad that you did.
Choose from the list below or have a presentation specifically designed to your needs.
REGAINING CIVILITY in an ANGRY WORLD
Anger & fear have turned us into a people who shout rather than discuss.
Communication stops when anger takes over -
on a nation level at work, in schools of all grade levels and in homes.
Events make it absolutely essential that individuals and groups
deal with this reality by
learning and using helpful strategies and tools to move beyond the mask
and effect peace in the environment and in one's own mind.
IT'S NOT A CARD; IT'S A WHOLE DECK -
HOW RACISM AFFECTS OF ALL
I cringe when I hear people say, with disdain in their voices,
"Why are they playing the race card again"?
I want to help people realize that the "cards" are a very real fact of
every day lives and the lives of our children & grandchildren.
They are actual events that have and continue to affect and wound us.
Until then it will continue to be us vs. them and we all pay a price.
NOW - the TIME for JOY & CELEBRATION
One of the 1st Joys an infant experiences is the smile that looks down on them,
a look of wonder, of happiness & pleasure.
S/he can't express it in words
but often they express it right back as a coo or a smile of their own.
And then our joy increases.
From that moment on they and we continue to want
& need those expressions of joy, to crave them.
Too often we fail to notice moments that could recreate that emotion
and also fail to provide opportunities for joy to come into our lives.
People often feel that taking a backward step is an indication of failure. Not so.
Let's take a step back & look at how simple joy can be created & experienced.
Let's explore the childhoods we had or the ones we wish we had.
Now is always the time for Joy and Celebration.
Georgia Blew My Mind; Moving Past Dreams to Action
We are never too old to learn and a recent stay in Georgia
taught me lessons I didn't know I needed to learn.
We are all familiar with Martin Luther King Jr's
plaintiff and compelling refrain - "I have a dream"
In the 56 years that have passed since that historic day
on the Washington Mall, dreams have been dreamed,
dreams have been shattered and dreams have withered away to rot.
Instead of dreaming I propose that we act and move from seeking
equality and equity to a third level of human behavior.
FUN, FOCUS, FINISH:
PARENTING OURSELVES &
OUR CHILDREN in a TENSE WORLD
one of my philosophical mantras:
where do I want to finish, while focusing & having fun during the process?
reasons why "now is the time to have a happy childhood".
Learn how to improve your relationship with your
children, friends, family, co-workers & yourself.
PARENT DAY & OTHER CELEBRATIONS - The Bitter and the Sweet
Every coin has two sides, a 24 hour period has night & day, food has both bitter & sweet flavors.
Here we'll explore the little known/never discussed bitter side of mother's/father's day of celebration
& why there are some who normally choose to not to.
A Parent's Day is often the day when some feel the need to avoid the celebration.
A message of invitation to comfort & learn that they are not alone.
Extraordinary Living thru Self-Care:
Managing Change & Other Life Situations
A humorous & not so humorous look at societies' licensing requirement of everything from
driving to barbering to marrying -- while neglecting the all-important license of Parenting.
